Activision and developer Toys for Bob have officially announced Spyro: A Realm Beyond for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC (Steam, Microsoft Store). The game will be released on Spring 2027 and marks the return of Spyro the Dragon for the first time in nearly two decades.
Back After Nearly Two Decades
This is Spyro's first original adventure in a very long time. Spyro: A Realm Beyond It introduces a new world, expanded exploration, and fresh gameplay that builds on the classic experience in exciting new ways.
One of the most significant features is True Dragon Flight—not just gliding or limited flight like in previous games, but true dragon flight. Players can soar over vibrant landscapes, weave through treetops, and dive off massive landmarks.
Story and Characters
In the story, Spyro finds himself stranded in a foreign realm. His journey to find his way home is interrupted by the arrival of a ferocious invading force known as Scavs. Spyro must make new allies and rise to protect this realm before everything changes forever.
Legendary voice actor Tom Kenny is once again voicing Spyro, bringing this iconic purple dragon into a bold new era.

Players can experience the freedom of flight as they soar over vibrant landscapes. The flight system allows players to:
