Tomytec's popular character project Tetsudo Musume will be adapted into an original TV anime. Anime with the title Tetsuryo! meet with Tetsudo Musume scheduled to air in 2026, brings the world of train girls to an anime format.
What is Project Tetsudo Musume?
Tetsudo Musume is not a franchise derived from manga or light novels. It is an original character project created by the TOMYTEC company since 2005. The concept is to create female characters that personify various professions in the Japanese railway industry. Each character represents a real job, such as a machinist, station attendant, and conductor, and wears authentic uniforms of railway companies in Japan.
The project is designed to introduce professions in the railroad world in an imaginative way. Along the way, Tetsudo Musume has expanded into various media, including collectible figures, manga, and CD dramas. As of May 2025, there are 114 Tetsudo Musume characters across Japan. This year, the project celebrated anniversary 20th.
Tetsudo Musume Anime Story and Teaser
The anime will center on four female train travel club members, Tetsudo Ryoko Doko-kai (abbreviated as "Tetsuryo"). The story will follow their travels to various places, where they meet hundreds of Tetsudo Musume characters working at the railroad company.
Website and a video teaser has been released to announce this anime project. The teaser introduces the four main characters in the story: Misaki Sata, Usa Harutachi, Kodama Orihara, and Ushio Yagami.
