The latest anime adaptation of Hirokazu Yasuhara's manga is set to arrive in Summer 2025. Cultural Exchange With a Game Center Girl will begin airing on July 6 and brings the story of the friendship of two teenagers from different cultural backgrounds, set in an unusual place: a game center.
Story and Trailer
Cultural Exchange With a Game Center Girl tells the story of Renji Kusakabe, a Japanese teenager who works part-time at a game center. One day, he meets Lily Baker, a British girl who has just moved to Japan. The two begin to communicate through the habit of exchanging diaries, which slowly forms a personal relationship between them.
The main promotional video released by Kadokawa features character interactions in a simple game center setting. The opening song titled Futari no Start Button also plays in the video and gives an initial idea of the anime's tone.
Inside story Cultural Exchange With a Game Center Girl is about the daily lives of two teenagers from different cultural backgrounds. The approach is quite light, but still highlights the dynamics of cross-cultural communication and adaptation in everyday life.
