For those of you who are fans of Hideo Kojima's visionary work, the world of Death Stranding continues to expand with new projects. Kojima Productions officially announced the anime adaptation of Death Stranding Isolations, which is the latest addition to this phenomenal franchise expansion.
Details about Death Stranding Isolations Anime
This ambitious project is tentatively titled Death Stranding Isolations. This is not a retelling of an existing game, but rather will present an entirely new, original story that runs parallel to Sam Bridges' journey in the same post-apocalyptic world.
The story will center on several individuals struggling in their own ways to survive. These new characters include an old man who seeks salvation in different ways, a female warrior who wants to create a world of eternal combat, a boy who holds a grudge against Bridges, and a girl who accepts solitude. Their different fates will be intertwined on the brink of extinction.
The Production Team Behind the Animation Project
The quality of this project is supported by big names in the Japanese animation industry. Hideo Kojima himself will oversee the project as executive producer. The director's chair is occupied by Takayuki Sano, who has a track record on Attack on Titan The Final Season.
The character design for this project was handled by Ilya Kuvshinov, an illustrator known for his work in Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045. The animation production process was entrusted to the studio E&H production, which will use a 2D hand-drawn animation style (hand-drawn).
Showtimes and Release Platforms
Death Stranding Isolations is scheduled to air exclusively on streaming services Disney+ by 2027. The choice of Disney+ as a global platform signifies the scale and reach it aims to achieve.

Another Death Stranding Franchise Expansion
The expansion of this franchise does not stop at the anime series. Kojima Productions is also actively developing two other adaptation projects.
First, there is an animated movie with the provisional title DEATH STRANDING MOSQUITO which will be directed by Hiroshi Miyamoto at ABC ANIMATION STUDIO.
Second, the movie adaptation live-action is being worked on by Hammerstone Studios, with Michael Sarnoski (director Pig) was appointed as both writer and director.

About Death Stranding
For context, Death Stranding is a video game that was originally released for PlayStation 4 in November 2019 and later came to PC.
Enhanced version, Death Stranding: Director's Cut, released for PlayStation 5 and PC. With over 20 million players, the game built a strong fan base, and a sequel, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, has also been announced.
