NHK announced that hiroja's spinoff manga will be made into a television series. The story is based on Osamu Nishi's original series with the full title of Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun: IruMafia Edition or Mairimashita! Iruma-kun if Episode of Mafia.
This decision expands the franchise's reach significantly. Fans will not only enjoy the continuation of the main story, but also variations of the story from universe another fresh take. The presence of this anime will certainly add a wealth of content for loyal fans of the series.
IruMafia Edition: Iruma Becomes a Mafia Boss?
The story in this series offers a very different premise from the usual setting the demon school you're used to seeing. You will meet your favorite characters in roles you have never imagined before. In this new spinoff, Iruma is portrayed as a very poor but cheerful boy who grew up in a cruel and dangerous shanty town neighborhood.
Iruma's life changed drastically because of one simple incident when he gave the only bread he had to a wounded old man. He nurses the stranger back to health, but unexpectedly, the old man turns out to be Don Sullivan, the leader of the Babyl Mafia.
Not long after that incident, Don Sullivan returned to pick up Iruma and asked him to become his grandson. From then on, Iruma began his new life as the future successor who would lead a giant gang of demonic mafioso.
More Manga and Project Info
This spinoff manga has quite an interesting publication history in Japan. The series was first launched in the magazine Bessatsu Shonen Champion owned by Akita Shoten in September 2023, before eventually moving to the magazine Weekly Shonen Champion by the same publisher on December 11. Akita Shoten is scheduled to publish the seventh volume of the manga on February 6.
For the international market, Kodansha USA Publishing has licensed the manga and will publish the third volume compilation book in English on February 17. This shows that the series is in high demand in the global market.

Franchise Background
Aside from news of this mafia spinoff, there's a lot going on in the franchise. Osamu Nishi launches original manga Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun at Weekly Shonen Champion in March 2017. The first anime adaptation premiered in October 2019, followed by Season 2 in April 2021, and Season 3 which debuted in October 2022.
Project anime Season 4 is scheduled to debut in April 2026. With the announcement of the spinoff airing in January 2027, the franchise will entertain fans through television broadcasts for two consecutive years without stopping.

Nishi also has another spinoff that focuses on the character Kalego titled Mairimashita! Iruma-kun: Kalego Gaiden (Kalego Side Story).
