R-Type Tactics I - II Cosmos finally got a release schedule for regions outside of Japan. R-Type Tactics I - II Cosmos will be available in June 18, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PS4, Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Game was first released in Japan on March 12, 2026.
This announcement is also important because R-Type Tactics II is coming outside of Japan for the first time. In one collection, two tactical, turn-based strategy games from the R-Type series are being brought to modern platforms.
Gameplay
R-Type Tactics I - II Cosmos brings the tactical, turn-based strategy format into the R-Type universe. Different from the main R-Type games known for their side-scrolling shooter format, the Tactics line focuses on strategy-based combat and fleet organization.
In this collection, you'll play multiple campaigns from both the Space Corps and Bydo sides. This format makes the conflict in the game run from more than one perspective.
R-Type Tactics II also features branching storylines. In addition, this collection includes hundreds of ships and levels from both games.

R-Type Tactics I - II Cosmos is Coming to Multiple Platforms
NIS America announced the release of R-Type Tactics I - II Cosmos for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC. For PC players, the game will be available via Steam and Epic Games Store.
Along with the announcement, NIS America also opened limited edition pre-orders through its official store for the PS5, PS4, and Switch versions for $79.99.
The limited edition package contains the Deluxe Edition, two-disc soundtrack, conceptual art card set, acrylic stand Rwf-9A ARROW HEAD, acrylic stand Bwf-1Dα BYDO SYSTEM α, and collector's box.
For Xbox Series X|S, limited edition and Deluxe Edition are said to be no longer planned.
